Help us test liway

v1.0.0-liway-rc2 · May 1, 2026

Thanks for trying liway. This page has 6 short things to try, ~3 minutes each. You don't have to do all of them. Even one or two is hugely useful.

For each one, there's a green button at the bottom that opens your email with a pre-written subject line. Just type whatever you noticed and hit send. No "right" answers.

What we want to hear most: what felt slow, what confused you, what looked wrong, what you wanted but couldn't find.

1

First impression

~2 min · No real bank needed

What to do

  1. Open liway. If you don't have an account, tap "Sign up" (any email works for this; we'll email a verification link).
  2. Once signed in, you'll land on an onboarding screen. Tap "Try with sample data".
  3. Wait for the dashboard to load. Look at it for 30 seconds without doing anything.

What to notice

2

Edit a number: try the "fix it" feature

~3 min · Sample data only

What to do

  1. From the dashboard, tap Edit (or the pencil-like icon at the top).
  2. Find the "Current balance" section. There should be a small pencil icon next to the dollar amount.
  3. Tap the pencil. The number should become editable.
  4. Change it to something different (any number; try $1000 or $10000). Tap Save.
  5. Go back to the dashboard.

What to notice

3

Edit or remove a bill

~2 min · Sample data only

What to do

  1. From Edit, scroll to "Detected bills".
  2. Find any bill row. You'll see a pencil and a trash icon next to it.
  3. Tap the trash icon. This tells liway "this isn't a real recurring bill, ignore it".
  4. Go back to the dashboard.
  5. Then go back to Edit again. Does the bill come back? (It shouldn't, until you re-include it.)

What to notice

4

Try a "two banks" scenario

~3 min · Sample data only

What to do

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Look for a section about sample-data scenarios (it should mention things like "single bank" or "multi-bank").
  3. Switch to the multi-bank scenario. Confirm if asked.
  4. Wait for the dashboard to update. Should take a few seconds.

What to notice

5

Sign up for real (verify your email)

~3 min · Real email needed

What to do

  1. If you used the sample-data flow above, tap SettingsSign out.
  2. Tap Sign up. Use a real email address you have access to (not your sample-data account).
  3. Wait for an email from liway with the subject "Confirm your liway account" or similar.
  4. Tap the confirmation link. You should land back in the app, signed in, ready to onboard.

What to notice

6

Connect a real bank (only if comfortable)

~5 min · Real bank credentials

What to do

  1. From the onboarding screen (after signing up for real in Scenario 5), tap Connect bank.
  2. You'll see a Plaid screen. Plaid is the service that handles bank connections (it's the same one Venmo, Robinhood, and Mint use).
  3. Search for your bank, sign in with your bank credentials. Plaid handles the credentials directly. liway never sees them.
  4. Wait for liway to detect your paychecks and bills. This may take 30-60 seconds.

Final question: the one that matters

If liway disappeared tomorrow, would you miss it? Three answers worth distinguishing:

Tell us honestly which one you'd give today, and what would have to change for your answer to move up by one.
